ORGANIST AND PIANIST
Jonathan Scott is an internationally acclaimed organist known for his exceptionally diverse performing career and virtuoso arrangements of major orchestral works for the pipe organ. Performing on a wide range of keyboard instruments, he has established a worldwide reputation for bringing symphonic repertoire to the organ in an engaging and innovative way. Born in Manchester, he studied piano and organ at Chetham’s School of Music and continued his studies in the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands. He is a recipient of the Worshipful Company of Musicians WT Best Scholarship and Gold Medal and is a Freeman of the City of London.
Jonathan performs regularly in leading concert halls, cathedrals, and international festivals across Europe and worldwide, including appearances at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Berlin State Opera, KKL Lucerne Concert Hall, BOZAR Brussels, Taipei National Concert Hall, and many major organ festivals. A major recent highlight was his solo organ recital at the BBC Proms 2024, broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall. He also gave the world premiere of Sir Karl Jenkins’ organ concerto 6000 Pipes! and has toured the work internationally. As Associate Artist of The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, he presents a popular series of organ recitals attracting large audiences. Alongside his solo career, Jonathan performs internationally with his pianist brother Tom Scott as the Scott Brothers Duo, whose innovative performances combining organ music and animation introduce new generations to the instrument. Their YouTube channel has amassed more than 100 million views worldwide.
