OLIVIER LATRY - SOLOIST CONCERT IN THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. ANASTASIA 22. 7. 2025.

After world stages and cathedrals, we had the privilege and honor on July 22, 2025 to listen to a solo concert by one of the world's most famous organists and professors at the Paris National Conservatory, titular organist of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, Mr. Olivier Latry, in the Cathedral of St. Anastasia in Zadar.

Olivier Latry is one of the world's leading organists. This is supported by the fact that he has performed in more than 50 countries on all continents in the world's most prestigious halls, collaborates with leading orchestras under the direction of renowned conductors, has recorded for major record labels and premiered an impressive number of works. He is particularly distinguished by his skill in improvisation, as in concerts he often creates complex, multi-part improvisations that sound as if they were composed over months, and not at a given moment. At this concert, he improvised to the general delight of those present on the theme of the Hymn of St. Anastasia, our heavenly patroness.

Therefore, it is no wonder that the cathedral was visited by numerous Zadar residents and tourists, as well as lovers of this musical art from all over Croatia, including many prominent Croatian musicians. The enthusiastic visitors had the opportunity to enjoy for more than an hour the virtuosity and mastery of playing the cathedral organ. Those present were especially amazed by the coordination of movements and the management of the organ, as well as the playing without scores. Mo. Olivier Latry was awarded a long applause and later honored everyone present with another performance.
